It was beyond anything I could’ve dreamed up. The Hideout in Kirkwood, California was the perfect venue for Kate and Ryan. Tucked away in the mountains, no reception, just nature, dear friends, and good times. I cannot count how many times I froze in complete awe or teared up from the beautiful in between moments.
There is something truly special about photographing a childhood friend’s wedding day- to see her as a grown independent women marrying her forever person-yet also still seeing her as that 12 year old who’d climb trees and play dress up with you until the sun set. To see her parents 20 years later and not miss a beat. To dance and sing with old friends that hold such fond memories in my life. All the above has been such a surprisingly sweet gift this job has given me.
K&R- Humbled to my core that you would entrust me to document this day for you. CHEERS to my free spirited, compassionate, animal loving, incredibly artistic and talented friends!
Oh and California brides-if you are adventurous, love the outdoors, mountains, forest vibes, no cell service, camping and cabin accommodations on site, this is your venue! Truly one of a kind.
